Richard Clapton
17th Annual State Theatre Show

SYNOPSIS

Renowned singer/songwriter, Richard Clapton, has announced his seventeenth (17th!!!) annual celebration at the State Theatre in Sydney on Saturday, 25 July 2026.

Ralph, as he’s affectionately known by his peers, is responsible for some of The Best Years of our Lives.  His annual State Theatre show celebrates more than 50 years as one of Australia’s foremost singer / songwriters and features hits like I Am an Island, Girls on the Avenue, Goodbye Tiger, Capricorn Dancer, Down in the Lucky Country, Deep Water, High Society, Blue Bay Blues, Glory Road and Ace of Hearts.

Richard said, “My my – how time flies when you’re havin’ fun! These 17 years at The State Theatre have always been a benchmark of my career, because the three hour show allows me to gather the best musicians Australia has to offer and to showcase their musicianship. It also allows me the latitude to showcase some of my best songs, many of which I never get to play in other venues. To make it even more special, on this long ride, are the audiences – many of whom first came to see this concert in 2008 and are still coming to this special gig every year.

Love you all – see you back at The State on 25th July.”

Richard Clapton and his red hot band, drawn from the cream of Australia’s top musicians, will play the whole show (two sets).
