SYNOPSIS

Logie and Melbourne International Comedy Festival award-winning comedian Aaron Chen from Netflix special “Funny Garden” and one of the foremost guys in “Fisk,” “Make That Movie” and “The Dink” is coming to tour the world with his new show, “Technology.” It deals with technology.

One of Australia’s most distinctive comedy voices, Aaron Chen is best known for his work on Fisk (ABC), Guy Montgomery’s Spelling Bee (ABC) and his recent Netflix special Funny Garden. The new tour will see him return to the stage across Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland.

Technology is the debut season of Chen’s latest stand-up hour, a show that, in keeping with its title, is about technology. Known for his deadpan delivery, surreal observational style, and quietly escalating absurdity, Chen has carved out a space in comedy that is unmistakably his own.

Since emerging onto the Australian comedy scene in 2017, Chen has built a rapid and internationally recognised career. He has performed multiple sold-out festival seasons and earned widespread critical acclaim, alongside major industry recognition including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer (2017), Director’s Choice (2019), and a nomination for Best Show (2021). In 2024, he received the MICF People’s Choice Award for highest ticket sales.

Beyond stand-up, Chen’s screen work has further expanded his profile. His Adult Swim special A Life in Questions (2021) earned an AACTA nomination for Best Short Form Comedy Special and led to development opportunities with Adult Swim/Warner Media. His 2022 special If It Weren’t Filmed, Nobody Would Believe has since amassed close to two million views on YouTube. Most recently, Funny Garden premiered on Netflix, marking a significant international milestone in his career.

Chen returns to his home soil in 2026 at the top of his game to debut Technology, giving audiences a chance to see one of Australia’s most in‑demand comedians live.
